Paul Biddington is an experienced and qualified provider of a full range of dispute resolution services.
Paul can provide service as required to any or all of:
- Advocacy – assisting and helping a party present their side in a dispute or conflict
- Negotiation – acting as a neutral third party in a negotiation or assisting a party to negotiate a better solution
- Mediation – act as an impartial third party to facilitate negotiations using a process that is non-binding and voluntary to assist them to resolve the dispute
- Conciliation – providing a process which is impartial and independent, however could still be requested by the parties to make either a binding or non-binding suggestion to settle the dispute
- Adjudication – a judicial process relevant to the building industry under the provisions of the Construction Contracts Act 2002
- Arbitration – a process for settlement of disputes where an independent and impartial arbitrator makes a decision settling the dispute after considering the representations of both parties

Qualifications & Experience
Paul has worked in a number of fields, with the last 28 years in the Real Estate Industry.
Paul has a Graduate Diploma in Business Studies (Dispute Resolution) from Massey University. He has been an Associate of the Arbitrators & Mediators Institute since 2001 and an Associate of the Real Estate Institute since 1978.
Paul is a convenor of one of the Real Estate Institutes Investigation Sub-Committees that investigate complaints from the public concerning real estate agents. He has also served as an Advocate for the Real Estate Institute in prosecuting real estate agents who breach the ‘Code of Ethics and Rules of Practise’. Paul is a committee member of the Canterbury Westland District of the Real Estate Institute.
Paul’s management background includes ownership of his own dispute resolution company and past ownership of his own real estate company. Currently he is involved in staff training, leadership development and mentoring.
Paul’s community involvement is that he is a Rotarian and past President of the Rotary Club of Belfast. He has held a number of directorships and has been an Assistant District Governor. He is currently Chairperson of the North Canterbury Alpine Trust, serves the community as a Justice of the Peace and is a member of the Canterbury Justices of the Peace Association of NZ.
